Monday Night Schedule Scribal arts Brewing Regional A&S

Please join us at 6pm on Monday evenings in Butler PA (contact Katla for directions) to learn or share medieval art forms. In the past we have experimented with scribal arts, heraldic display, brewing, card weaving, costuming, hard cover and limp bound books, soap making, needle cases, hemp jewelry, blackwork embroidery, cooking, finger woven cords, silk painting,armor making and medieval fishing.

September 6No A&S - Labor Day Holiday

September 13Or Nue Embroidery (Yvianne de Castel d'Avignon)
Use a simple couching stitch over metallic threads to make designs.
Oooh, shiny!!

Please bring a 4 or 5 inch embroidery hoop if you have one.

September 20 Calligraphy (multiple teachers)
We are blessed with a large number of skilled calligraphers.
Join us to learn about materials, technique and tips.
Materials will be available for those who need to borrow them for the evening.

September 27Kumihimo Braiding (Cadell Blaidd Du & Isabel d'Fleury)
Japanese cord making is fun and easy.
Materials will be provided for those needing them.

October 4Research & Documentation (Yvianne de Castel d'Avignon)
Really, it's not that hard ...
if you know a few simple tricks and use them from the begining of a project.

October 11Wire Weaving (Tommasa Isolana)
Learn how to use plain wire and a few simple tools to weave a chain or necklace.

October 18Naalbinding (Katla Ulfhedinn)

November 11You Be the Judge
Fun, interactive exercise to learn about how competition judging works.
Feel freee to bring a piece for the class of "judges" to consider.

Scriptorium at West AEthelweald
The scribes (and those interested in the scribal arts of calligraphy, illumination, gilding, etc) meet frequently during A&S nights. Please contact Katla for more information or directions.

Brewers' Guild

So many folks are interested in brewing that the Brewers' Guild has been reprised.
Beer brewing is happening approximately once a month on a day and time determined by interest
